I just purchased a tarot deck based on the mythos of Wagner's Ring Cycle. It put me in the mood to see a version of it on Youtube.
There are plenty of performances but this one stands out for sheer audacity. It goes over several tops. It shows off its rather Freudian set design without fear or shame. I could only watch with my jaw hanging open. But I also worried that the performers would slide right off the stage.
Other examples do have nice singing but they don't even attempt to show the actual "ride". Because, well, it would be extremely expensive. I understand that this production set the MET back quite a lot of money. But it is fun to watch.
Enjoy, giggle, gawk and wonder at the contraption center stage.
